A Living Collection
We are a unique collection that has worked closely with faith communities to gather images that are a genuine record of religious beliefs and practices. We specialise in images for editorial use, particularly for religious education and general reference publishing and can offer guidance on the content and context of the images.
How we began
The Library was founded 21 years ago to provide authentic images for religious education publishing . Since that time we have worked closely with a group of writers on religious issues and with many publishing houses in order to develop a collection that responds to the need to accurately portray religious practice. Many of our photographers are members of the faith that they photograph and others have a particular interest in certain cultures or religious traditions. We also have links with agencies working in partnership with faith communities on environmental projects worldwide. For more information on this please see www.arcworld.org. Our library is currently being scanned and a wide range of images are added to the website on a regular basis.
